The Removal of Doubts 6 - (20/10/19)

The General Answer

....An example of this is when some of the polytheists say to you: “No doubt, indeed the friends of Allah, no fear shall come to them nor shall they grieve” [Yunus 10:62] and that the intercession is true and the Prophets have a lofty status with Allah.
Or he will mention a statement of the Prophet ﷺ and he will try to use it as proof for some of his falsehood and you do not understand the meaning of the statement quoted to you.

The polytheists bring their evidences from the parts of the Qur’an which are unclear to justify their Shirk. The People of Knowledge should refer these unclear verses to the clear verses.

We believe that the Awliyah of Allah will have no fear and grief, but the polytheist uses this verse to justify his Shirk of invoking them, slaughtering at their graves, etc.

Intercession is true, but with two conditions:
1) The permission of Allah should be given
2) Allah should be pleased with the one interceding and the interceded for

Ibrahim عليه لسلام is a Prophet, but he cannot intercede for his father, because Allah is not pleased with his father.

The polytheist tries to use these true statements as proof for the falsehood he commits.

So answer him with your statement: Allah says in His Book that those in whose heart there is deviation leave the clear verses and follow the unclear verses.
And I have told you before that the polytheists in the early times believed in the Ruboobiyah of Allah, but their disbelief was because of their devotion to the angels, Prophets, righteous people, and they said: “These are our intercessors with Allah” [Yunus 10:18]

This is the same claim that those who go to shrines and graves make. In the full verse in Surah Yunus [10:18]:

“And they worship besides Allah things that hurt them not, nor profit them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allah." Say: "Do you inform Allah of that which He knows not in the heavens and on the earth?" Glorified and Exalted be He above all that which they associate as partners with Him!”

Allah is telling us that what they said and did is considered Shirk. This verse is a clear verse (محكم) which you should refer the polytheist to, to falsify his claim.

But I am sure that the speech of Allah never contradicts each other and the statement of the Prophet ﷺ never contradicts the statement of Allah. And this is a correct answer, yet no one understands it except the one whom Allah granted success, as Allah mentioned, “

E.g. In one verse Allah describes the stick of Musa عليه السلام into a snake, in another verse into a big snake, in another verse a big snake which moves very quickly. There is no contradiction. When you combine all these verse, it will give you the full description of the snake the stick turned into.

The Specific Answer

The Shaikh now refutes each individual doubt.

And as for the specific answer: then indeed the enemies of Allah have many counter-arguments to the Religion of the Messengers, by which they turn the people away from it.

From them is their statement:

Doubt #1 - “We do not associate any partners with Allah - rather we bear witness that none creates nor provides sustenance nor brings benefit or harm except Allah alone, having no partner - and that Muhammad ﷺ does not possess the ability to bring benefit to himself nor harm - let alone Abdul-Qaadir or other than him. However, I am a sinner and the righteous people have a lofty status with Allah, so it is through them that I ask of Allah.

These people have resembled Allah with His creation. When we are in a weak position and need help from someone in a very high position, in order to enter upon them we need an intermediary. They think that Allah cannot be approached directly, and they need someone who they can. They do not know that Allah is القريب (The Most Near) and that
(There is nothing like Him and He is the All-Hearer All-Seer)

The Answer: So answer him with what preceded and it is:
“That those against whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fought were people who affirmed what you have just mentioned, and they affirmed that their idols did not have the ability to control anything - and that they (the polytheists) only wanted to use their lofty position and their intercession. And recite to him that which Allah has mentioned in His Book and which He has made clear.”

So if he says:

Doubt #2These verses were revealed with regards to idol-worshippers, so how can you equate the righteous with the idols? Or how can you equate the Prophets with idols?

Then answer him with what has preceded.

Answer: “(And) if he affirms that the disbelievers used to testify that all the Ruboobiyah (Lordship) is for Allah and that they sought only the intercession from the ones that they turned to - but he wishes to distinguish between their action and his action with what he has mentioned, then mention to him that from the disbelievers were some who would call upon the idols, and some who would call upon the Awliyaa (beloved servants of Allah), about whom Allah says:

The Christians worshipped Jesus, the Jews worshipped Uzair, and some of the Arabs of the early times invoked the Angels.

An evidence for that is in Surah al-Israa [17:57]:

“Those whom they call upon [like 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair (Ezra), angel, etc.] desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord (Allah), as to which of them should be the nearest and they ['Iesa (Jesus), 'Uzair (Ezra), angels, etc.] hope for His Mercy and fear His Torment. Verily, the Torment of your Lord is something to be afraid of!”

And Allah says in Surah Al-Maa’idah [5:75-76]:

“The Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary), was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother [Maryam (Mary)] was a Siddiqah [i.e. she believed in the words of Allah and His Books (see Verse 66:12)]. They both used to eat food (as any other human being, while Allah does not eat). Look how We make the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them, yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth).”

“Say (O Muhammad to mankind): "How do you worship besides Allah something which has no power either to harm or to benefit you? But it is Allah Who is the All-Hearer, All-Knower."

And in Surah Saba [34:40-41]:

“And (remember) the Day when He will gather them all together, and then will say to the angels: "Was it you that these people used to worship?"

“They (angels) will say: "Glorified be You! You are our Wali (Lord) instead of them. Nay, but they used to worship the jinns; most of them were believers in them."

They would call and the dead would respond but it would be a Jinn answering them and Allah allowed that to happen for the disbelievers to increase in their disbelief. When someone stubbornly persists on his misguidance, Allah will misguide him even more. But if a person seeks guidance, Allah will guide him.

And in Surah Al-Maa’idah [5:116]:

“And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?' " He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden and unseen.”

So say to him: Do you know that Allah declared the person who seeks the intercession idols and Awliyaa disbelievers and Allah’s Messenger ﷺ fought against them?
