The Removal of Doubts 4 - (6/10/19)

كشف الشبهات

And know that He, free from all imperfections, - from His wisdom - did not send a Prophet with this Tawheed except that He set up enemies for him, just as Allah the Most High stated: “And likewise did We appoint for every Prophet enemies - Shayateen (devils) from the men and jinn, inspiring one another with beautified speech as delusion (or by way of deception” [Al-An’am 6:112]

This is the Sunnah of Allah. The nature of people is to fight everything they are ignorant of. After worshipping the grave for years and you come and tell them that what they are doing is wrong, they won’t be happy with you. There are people who will respond and people who will not respond, but your reward is with Allah.

Allah said in Surah Al-An’am [6:112]:

“And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies - Shayatin (devils) among mankind and jinns, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion (or by way of deception). If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it, so leave them alone with their fabrications.”

Allah said شياطين الإنس و الجن (Devils from Humankind and Jinn). He mentioned the devils of humans before Jinn because of the seriousness of the human devils. The devils among the humans may come to you in the form of a sincere advisor and address you with beautiful speech.

There may be people who are not on the right way yet speak eloquently and impressively so that ignorant people can be easily deceived by them. They may mix the truth with falsehood and raise doubts amongst people.

There are some Tafseer books like Tafseer ar-Raazi where the author is eloquent and beautifully explains the verse yet it is full of falsehood.

And the enemies of Tawheed may sometimes have many types of knowledge, books, and arguments - just as He, the Most High, stated: “So when there came to them their Messengers with the clear proofs, they (those who denied their Messengers) rejoiced in the knowledge that they had with their own selves.” [Ghafir 40:83]

The Shi’a Scholar Al-Majlisi has a book called Bihar Al-Anwar. This book comprises of 120 volumes but it is full of falsehood.

Shaikh Abdul-Kareem Al-Khudair mentioned that when the Scholars of the Sunnah talk, they do not answer in length. They answer the question in one or two minutes. If you look into the statements of the companions, whenever someone came to them with a question, they did not talk much.

Ibn Rajab said that whoever prefers a Scholar over a Scholar because of his verbosity has belittled the Scholars of the Salaf.

This does not mean that when addressing students of knowledge the teacher does not elaborate the points in order that they understand. This is with regards to the general public - when you approach them you do not talk in detail so that they get confused. You should give them the amount they can understand and accept.

So when you have come to know all of this and you have come to know that the path to Allah the Most High will inevitably have enemies lying in wait upon it - people of eloquence, knowledge, and proofs - then it is obligatory for you to learn from the Religion of Allah that which will become a weapon for you with which you fight these Shayateen, those whose leader and spokesman said to your Lord - The Mighty and Majestic: “I will surely sit in wait for them on Your Straight Path. Then I will come to them from in front of them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them to be grateful.” [Al-A’raf 7:16-17]

However, if you turn to Allah and pay close attention to His proofs and His clarifications, then do not be afraid nor be sad because: “Indeed the plot of the Shaytaan is ever weak” [An-Nisa 4:76]

And the layman from the monotheists will overcome a thousand of the Scholars of the polytheists, just as Allah the Most High says: “And (that) indeed Our soldiers will be the victorious ones” [As-Saaffaat 37:173]. So the soldiers of Allah are the victorious ones by way of evidence and the tongue, just as they are victorious by way of the sword and spear. The fear is only with regard to the monotheist who proceeds along the path with no weapon.

The laymen of the past were illiterate but had knowledge because they used to listen to the lectures of Scholars. They had the weapon of knowledge. But fear is for the layman who has no weapon with him.
