#24
Lying in most of ones Speech

-> Allah said in Surah Ghafir [40:28]:

"Verily, Allah guides not one who is a Musrif (a polytheist, or a murderer who shed blood without a right, or those who commit great sins, oppressor, transgressor), a liar!"

-> And in Surah Aal-'Imran [3:61]:
"Then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie."

-> And the Prophet ﷺ said,

"Lying leads to deviance and deviance leads to the Fire. A man continues to lie until he is written as a liar with Allah." [Agreed Upon]

There are parents who lie to their little kids. They are raising their children up on lying.

->
In an excerpt of long Hadith regarding the dream of the Prophet ﷺ, "As for the man you came upon, whose sides of mouth, nostrils and eyes were torn off from front to back, he is the symbol of the man who goes out of his house in the morning and tells lies that are spread all over the world." [Al-Bukhari]

->
"The believer could develop all sorts of characteristics except treachery and lying"

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"It is enough for a man to prove himself a liar when he goes on narrating whatever he hears." [Muslim]

This is another type of lying, where you say everything you hear. You should choose what benefits you and the people, then speak.

-> Another form of lying is as the Prophet ﷺ said:

A'isha reported that a woman said: Allah's Messenger, may I say to my (co-wife) that my husband has given me (such and such) a thing but which he has not in fact gives me? 'Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: The one who makes a false statement of that which one has not been given is like one who wears a garment of falsehood. [Muslim]

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:

 "Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales." [
Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

If you think someone did something based on your assumption without knowing what is inside her heart, it is considered bad thinking about people and a lie.

#25
Suicide, and this is one of the Greatest Major Sins

-> Allah said in Surah An-Nisaa [4:29-31]:
"And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you.
And whoever commits that through aggression and injustice, We shall cast him into the Fire, and that is easy for Allah.
If you avoid the great sins which you are forbidden to do, We shall remit from you your (small) sins, and admit you to a Noble Entrance (i.e. Paradise)."

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:

There was amongst those before you a man who had a wound. He was in [such] anguish that he took a knife and made with it a cut in his hand, and the blood did not cease to flow till he died. Allah the Almighty said: “My servant has himself forestalled Me; I have forbidden him Paradise.” [Agreed Upon]

-> Imam Ahmad رحمه الله said: We do not know of the Prophet ﷺ leaving prayer over anyone except for the one who stole from the booty and the one who committed suicide.

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever kills himself with (an instrument of) iron, he will come on the Day Of Judgment with his iron in his hand, to continually stab himself in his stomach with it, in the fire of Jahannam, dwelling in that state eternally. And whoever kills himself with poison, then his poison will be in his hand, to continually take it in the Fire of Jahannam, dwelling in that state eternally." [Agreed Upon]

->
And in the Saheeh Hadeeth of the one whose wound was causing him pain, so he hastened death upon himself and killed himself with his sword, the Prophet ﷺ said regarding him: “He is one of the Inhabitants of the Hellfire”

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Cursing a believer is like killing him and whoever accuses a believer of disbelief, then it is like he has killed him, and whoever kills himself with something, then Allah will punish him with whatever he killed himself with on the Day of Judgement." [At-Tirmithi]

We know in our Religion that suicide is not the solution. We should look at our calamities as bridge to expiate our sins and elevate us in ranks.

#26
The Evil Judge

-> This is the judge that rules according to his desire.

-> Allah said in Surah al-Maa'idah [5:44]:
"And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are the Kafirun (i.e. disbelievers - of a lesser degree as they do not act on Allah's Laws)."

-> In Surah al-Baqarah [2:159]:
"Verily, those who conceal the clear proofs, evidences and the guidance, which We have sent down, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursers."

-> The Prophet ﷺ said,
'One Judge is in Paradise, and two judges are in Hellfire. The  judge who knows the truth and judges in accordance with it will be in Paradise. The judge who knows the truth but deliberately commits injustice will be in the Hellfire, and the judge who judges without knowing the truth will be in the Hellfire.” [Authenticated by Al-Hakim]

-> And the Prophet ﷺ was asked regarding the aforementioned Hadeeth
“What is the sin of the one who was ignorant? He said, “His sin is that he should not be a judge until he knows.”

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
'If a judge passes judgment and strives to reach the right conclusion and gets it right, he will have two rewards; if he strives to reach the right conclusion but gets it wrong, he will still have one reward." [Agreed Upon]

->
It is forbidden upon the judge to rule whilst he is angry, especially if it is due to an argument.

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The curse of Allah is upon the one who offers a bribe and the one who takes it.” [At-Tirmithi]

The unjust judge is the one who takes bribes and does not judge according to the law of Allah.

#27
The Pimp

-> الديوث; This is the one who approves sin from the women he is responsible over - his wife, sister, mother.

-> Allah said in Surah an-Nur [24:3]:
"The adulterer marries not but an adulteress or a Mushrikah and the adulteress none marries her except an adulterer or a Muskrik. Such a thing is forbidden to the believers (of Islamic Monotheism)."

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"There are three at who will not enter Paradise: The one who disobeys his parents, the cuckold, and the woman who imitates men in her outward appearance"

#28
Women Imitating Men and Men Imitating Women

-> In Sura Shura [42:37]:
"And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.),"

->

Ibn 'Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed those men who are effeminate, and women who imitate men. [Al-Bukhari]

This is because this leads to other sins. Today he wears what women wear, tomorrow he imitates them in his walk and speech, the following day he surgically changes his body to a female body, then he says "I am a woman" and marries a man.

#29
The Permitter and the Permitted For

-> When a man divorces his wife three times, he is not allowed to remarry her unless another man marries his wife and divorces her. The man who marries the wife is called المحلل.

There are people who hire men to marry their wives for a few days then divorce them so they can return to their previous wives. This is forbidden and a major sin.

#30
Eating Dead Animals, Blood, and Pork

-> In Surah Al-An'am [6:145]:
"Say (O Muhammad): "I find not in that which has been inspired to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be Maytatah (a dead animal) or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or the like), or the flesh of swine (pork, etc.) for that surely is impure, or impious (unlawful) meat (of an animal) which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah (or has been slaughtered for idols, etc., or on which Allah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering)."

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The flesh of a person that sprouts from the unlawful will not enter Paradise; the Hellfire is more deserving of it”

#31
Not Purifying Oneself from Urine, and this is One of the Symbols of the Christians

->

"The Prophet passed by two graves. He said: 'These two are being punished. And they are not being punished for something major. As for this one, he would not protect himself from his urine. As for this one, he used to spread Namimah (slander).'" [Agreed Upon]

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Clean yourselves from urine, because it is the main cause of punishment in the grave”. [Ad-Daruqutni]

#32
The One who takes Tax Unlawfully

-> Allah said in Surah ash-Shura [42:42]:
"The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment."

->
And in the Hadith regarding the adulteress who purified herself by stoning, (The Prophet ﷺ said): "By Him in whose hand my soul is, she has repented to such an extent that if one who wrongfully takes extra tax were to repent to a like extent, he would be forgiven." [Sunan Abi Dawoud]

#33
Ar-Riyaa (Showing Off in Acts of Worship), and it is from Hypocrisy

-> Allah said in Surah an-Nisa regarding the characteristics of the hypocrites [4:142]:
"...and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allah but little."

-> And He said in Surah al-Baqarah [2:264]:
"...like him who spends his wealth to be seen of men,..."

They perform good deeds and want people to see them, that is why it is called الرياء - from رؤية. Or they perform good deeds and want people to hear about them, and this is called السمعة. These ruin the deed you are performing.

-> Riyaa is of two types:
a) Major Shirk
If you do it only for the people and not for Allah at all

b) Minor Shirk

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
The first to be judged on the Day of Resurrection will be a man who had died as a martyr. He will be brought forward. Allah will remind him of the favours He had bestowed upon him and the man will acknowledge them. Then He will ask him: 'What did you do to express gratitude for it?' The man will reply: 'I fought for Your Cause till I was martyred.' Allah will say: 'You have lied. You fought so that people might call you courageous; and they have done so.' Command will then be issued about him and he will be dragged on his face and thrown into Hell.
Next a man who had acquired and imparted knowledge and read the Qur'an will be brought forward, Allah will remind him of the favours He had bestowed upon him and the man will acknowledge them. Then He will ask him: 'What did you do to express gratitude for it?' The man will reply: 'I acquired knowledge and taught it, and read the Qur'an for Your sake.' Allah will say to him: 'You have lied. You acquired knowledge so that people might call you a learned (man), and you read the Qur'an so that they might call you a reciter, and they have done so.' Command will then be issued about him, and he will be dragged on his face and thrown into Hell
Next a man whom Allah had made affluent and to whom Allah had given plenty of wealth, will be brought forward, Allah will remind him of the favours He had bestowed upon him and the man will acknowledge them. He will ask him: 'What did you do to express gratitude for it?' The man will reply: 'I did not neglect any of the ways You liked wealth to be spent liberally for Your sake'. Allah will say to him: 'You have lied. You did it so that people might call you generous, and they have done so.' Command will then be issued about him and he will be dragged on his face and thrown into Hell." [Muslim]

Even if you perform the good deed with both intententions: Seeking the reward from Allah and wanting the people to see you, it is Shirk. This is because Shirk is to associate partners with Allah, and Allah only accepts what is solely for Him, which is Tawheed.

->
It was said to Ibn ‘Umar: ‘We enter upon our rulers and say one thing, and when we leave we say something else.’ He said: ‘At the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), we used to regard that as hypocrisy.’” [Bukhari]

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"If anyone wants to have his deeds widely publicised, Allah will publicise (his humiliation). And if anyone makes a hypocritical display (of his deeds) Allah will make a display of him." [Agreed Upon]

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"A little of Riyaa is Shirk" [Authenticated by Al-Haakim]

This refers to Minor Shirk. But if it is complete Riyaa, it is Major Shirk.

->

#34

Betrayal

-> Allah said in Surah al-Anfal [8:27]:

"O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]."

-> In Surah Yusuf [12:52]:
"And, verily! Allah guides not the plot of the betrayers."

-> The worst form of betrayal is betrayal with regards to your Religion. Our Religion is a trust. People are of three kinds:
a) Those who do not carry the trust - The disbelievers
b) Those who carry the trust in his heart and actions - The believers
c) Those who only carry the trust outwardly - The hypocrites

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"There is no faith for the one who cannot fulfill a trust, and there is no Religion for one who cannot uphold a covenant." [Musnad Ahmad]

-> And he ﷺ said:
"There are three signs of a hypocrite: When he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is trusted, he betrays his trust." [Agreed Upon]

The Amanah (trust) is not just limited to what people lend you and you return to them. It is much broader than that. Your Religion is an Amanah (trust), washing after your period is an Amanah - because no one knows when it's finished except you. We will be asked about it.

#35

Seeking Knowledge for the sake of this World and Concealing Knowledge

-> In Surah Al-Baqarah [2:159]:
"Verily, those who conceal the clear proofs, evidences and the guidance, which We have sent down, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursers."

->  The Prophet ﷺ said:
"He who does not acquire knowledge with the sole intention of seeking the Pleasure of Allah but for worldly gain, will not smell the fragrance of Jannah on the Day of Resurrection." [Abu Dawud]

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
In the Hadith about the first three people who will be thrown into the Hellfire, it will be said to one of them, "You acquired knowledge so that people might call you a learned (man), and they have done so." [Muslim]

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Do not seek knowledge in order to show off in front of the scholars, or to argue with the foolish, and do not choose the best seat in a gathering, due to it (i.e. the knowledge which you have learned) for whoever does that, the Fire, the Fire (awaits him)." [Ibn Hibban]

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"He who is asked about knowledge (of religion) and conceals it, will be bridled with a bridle of fire on the Day of Resurrection." [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmithi]

-> The Prophet ﷺ used to invoke Allah saying:
"O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that does not benefit." [Muslim]

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever learns knowledge which he does not act upon, his knowledge does not increase him in anything but pride."

The more knowledge you have, the more it should be seen in your actions, in your acts of worship, in your manners, in your humility, etc. If it increases your pride in front of people, it means that your knowledge did not benefit you.

The first thing the Prophet ﷺ would ask after the Fajr prayer is:

Beneficial knowledge is a provision from Allah, it is not something you achieve by your own hands. So ask Allah for it.

#36
The One who Reminds others of his Favours

-> We should not say, "I did this, I gave you, I helped you, etc.", even to our own children. Allah said in Surah Al-Baqarah [2:264]:

"Do not render in vain your Sadaqah (charity) by reminders of your generosity or by injury,"

When you remind others of your favour you nullify your good deed and it is considered a major sin. If you do a good deed, try to forget it, so you won't remind others about it.

-> The Prophet ﷺ said:
"There are three whom Allah will not look at on the Day of Judgement, nor will He purify them, and theirs is a painful punishment: "The  one whose Izar hangs (below the ankles), the one who reminds others of his favours, and the one who promotes his merchandise with false oath." [Muslim]
