Pillars of Faith = Our Inside

Pillars of Faith

الإيمان = Faith
You believe in what Allah told you, which you do not see. There are 6 Pillars of Faith:

1) Belief in Allah (الله تعالى)
No one has seen Allah, neither the Messengers nor the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Allah is غيب (unseen). If we saw Allah, we would die, because our bodies are not able to take it. Our bodies are not prepared to see what is so great and beautiful. Allah has hidden Himself from us, but we can know Him through His signs.

2) Belief in the Angels (الملآئكة)
We have not seen Angels, but we believe in them. The Prophet ﷺ saw the Angel Jibreel twice in his actual form. The other times he saw him in human form.

3) Belief in the Books (الكتب)
We believe in the Divine Books, which Allah revealed to the Messengers. The last of these books is the Quran.  These Books are a connection from Allah to the people, to tell them what they should do in their lives.

4) Belief in the Messengers (الرسل)
These are humans whom Allah gave a job - to convey the message to the people; to teach them about Allah.

5) Belief in the Last Day (اليوم الآخر)
We need to believe in all the events which happen after death until ones final destination - in Paradise or Hell.

6) Belief in the Decrees, the Good and Evil (القدر خيره و شره)
We need to believe in the decrees, both good and bad.
Example of a Good Decree: Children, Getting married to a good Muslim, etc.
Example of a Bad Decree: Sickness, Car Accident, etc.

We need to believe that all the decrees are from Allah, and they are all good, even if they are bad - because they are from Allah.

#1 - Belief in Allah

This is the main Pillar of Faith. If you have correct belief in Allah, you will believe in the rest of the Pillars of Faith.

What do I need to believe about Allah?

We believe that Allah exists

Atheists believe that Allah does not exist. If you ask them who created the sun and moon they say it came into existence on its own, and this is illlogical.
If someone tells you that the chair you are sitting on was not made by anyone and just came into existence, you would laugh at him.

Allah has always existed and He will never perish or die. Because Allah is Allah; He is greater than anything.

We believe that Allah has a Face which is attributed with Majesty and Honour

All the creation around us have a face. We believe that Allah has a Face which is full of beauty and majesty, but we stop at that. We do not ask or imagine how it looks like or resemble Him to His creation. The Prophet ﷺ said:

حِجَابُهُ النُّورُ لَوْ كَشَفَهَا لأَحْرَقَتْ سُبُحَاتُ وَجْهِهِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَدْرَكَهُ بَصَرُهُ
His Veil is Light, and if He were to remove it, the glory of his Face would burn everything of His creation, as far as His gaze reaches. [Sunan Ibn Majah]

The biggest delight is to see the Face of Allah. We work hard in this life so that we can see Allah in Paradise.

We believe that Allah has two Generous Hands

Allah has two Hands, and we stop at that. We affirm that He has two Hands full of goodness, because He has affirmed it to Himself,  but we do not imagine how it looks like. Imagining is from the Shaytan. We believe that He has two Honourable, Beautiful Hands full of Majesty, and nothing can resemble them.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
إن الله تعالى يبسط يده بالليل ليتوب مسيء النهار، ويبسط يده بالنهار ليتوب مسيء الليل حتى تطلع الشمس من مغربها‏
Allah, the Exalted, will continue to stretch out His Hand in the night so that the sinners of the day may repent, and continue to stretch His Hand in the daytime so that the sinners of the night may repent, until the sun rises from the west. [Muslim]

The Jews misbehaved with Allah when they said that Allah's Hands are tied (i.e. He is miserly). Sometimes we supplicate and do not get what we asked for, and the Shaytan may use this opportunity to whisper. You need to believe that Allah's Hands are stretched; He is Generous. But Allah will give you what is good for you. Perhaps what you are asking for is bad for you.
If you have a thirteen your old son who asks you for a car, you will not give it to him. If a sick person wants to eat something that is bad for him, you will prevent him, out of your mercy for him.

We believe that Allah has two real Eyes

But again, we stop ourselves from imagining how they are. His Eyes are real, but they are not like the Eyes of anyone else.
The Prophet ﷺ said about the Dajjal (Anti-Christ):

مَا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلاَّ أَنْذَرَ قَوْمَهُ الأَعْوَرَ الْكَذَّابَ، إِنَّهُ أَعْوَرُ، وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَعْوَرَ
"Allah did not send any prophet but that he warned his nation of the one-eyed liar (Ad-Dajjal). He is one-eyed while your Lord is not one-eyed" [Bukhari]

If you do not believe that Allah has two eyes, you can easily believe in the Dajjal. The matter of faith is something very important - even with the deception Dajjal comes, your belief will prevent you from being deceived by his power.

We believe that nothing resembles Him

The Face of Allah is not like anyone elses Face, His Hands are not like the Hands of anyone else, His Eyes are not like the eyes of anyone else. His Happiness is not like the happiness of anyone else, His Laugh is not like the laughter of anyone else, His Anger is not like the anger of anyone else. No one resembles Allah; not even a little.

Correct belief is correct information about Allah, until no one can change our mind. This is how we will be strong from within.

We believe that Allah Speaks with Whatever He Wishes, Whenever He Wishes, However He Wishes

We believe that Allah Speaks with words and a voice, but again, we do not imagine how. We cannot imagine the beauty of the voice of Allah. If there are of His creation who have beautiful voices, then how about the voice of the Creator?

We need to be careful with what we say, because we are accountable for our speech. Allah Speaks the best; He says whatever He wants. There are no restrictions or limitations to His Speech.

We believe that His Words are the most complete, perfect Words and the Most Truthful Words.

We believe that the Quran is the Words of Allah

It is an honour that Allah allowed us to see, recite, write, and hear His Words, although He is above the Throne. Every verse in the Quran is a message from Allah.

He truly spoke with it and cast it to Jibreel عليه السلام who brought it down upon the heart of the Prophet ﷺ

We believe that Allah is the Creator of everything

Allah created the sun, the moon, the heavens and the earth, the angels, the humans, the Shaytan, the insects, the actions. Allah created our actions - our walking, our speaking, our lifting of our hands, etc. He is the Creator of everything. There are no two Creators.
If there were two creators, they would fight, because they would both want to dominate. It is not possible that this universe has more than one Creator, because it is perfect. We do not give credit to anyone except the Creator. We should not limit our minds to the means; we should think beyond the means.
E.g. When we cook food, we should attribute it to Allah.

We believe that to Allah belongs the Dominion of the Heavens and Earth

Everything belongs to Allah. The heavens belong to Allah. The earth belongs to Allah. All the continents belong to Allah. Our car belongs to Allah. Our house belongs to Allah. Our husband belongs to Allah. Our children belong to Allah. Allah owns everything. We are all poor, even if we have food, money, drinks, and properties.
Allah gave you a thousand dollars and another a million dollars, but this money does not belong to you, because Allah will ask you about it on the Day of Judgement. The more you have in this world, the more you will be asked about it on the Day of Judgement. So do not be proud of what you have or be jealous of anyone; everything Allah gave you is a test.

We need to input all this information in our system.
