We should make the 5 requests goals for our children. They should always ask Allah for these 5 important matters.

When asking Allah these 5 requests, What are the beliefs that should be established in our hearts?

(You are the One who commands and no one can pass his command upon You)

Allah is our ملك, Who disposes our affairs, Who owns us, Whose command none can repel, Whom no one can anyone pass a command over, and we are His slaves, therefore we should ask Allah these 5 requests with humility.

In the hearts of children, there are many other gods controlling the world. They look at the cartoon characters as great, super, and having the ability to control the world. It is very important to emphasize that Allah is above everything and if He says "Be" to something it will be, and that He is the All-Powerful; Able to do everything.

(He is not humiliated whom You have befriended)

(And he is not honoured who is Your enemy)

Allah will not disgrace or humiliate whom He has taken as a Wali nor will Allah honour those who disbelieve in Him.

Children are always seeking support, love, friends. They seek الولاية. And they are afraid of being humiliated, of someone laughing at them or mocking them, and they feel bad if someone embarrasses them. They may hate a subject at school because the teacher of that subject humiliated them.

We have to tell our children: Allah is the One who honours and Allah is the One who humiliates.

Who does Allah honour?

Allah honours His Awliyaa. Who are His Awliyaa? The believers who have Taqwa

If you obey Allah and avoid disobeying to Him, He will honour you and never let you down. When will the humiliation happen? When you disobey Allah. Then Allah will make someone humiliate you.

If one who knows Allah disobeys Allah, Allah will make those who do not know Allah overpower him.

Why are the believers sometimes humiliated or oppressed? Look at their actions. Yes, they believe in Allah, but are they abiding by His laws and practicing it as they should? Allah will not make the disbelievers overpower them if they are.

This is a rule we should keep in front of our and our childrens's eyes.

Allah is the One who honours and humiliates. You have to take the means of being honoured. What are the means of being honoured? The means are obeying Allah, doing good deeds, etc. then Allah will take you into His Wilayah and will never let you down. Just ask Allah and He will answer you, help you, strengthen you, support you, etc.

Nowadays you see the teenage youth always imitating the Kuffar in their fashion, hairstyles, in the way they speak, in their behavior, and they think that when they do this they are honoured and are something. This indicates هزيمة نفسية (I.e. They have an inferiority complex). Allah calls the disbelievers the worst of creatures in Surah Al-Bayyinah and you as a believer, whom Allah called the best of creatures, are imitating them? Do not imitate them in what contradicts our Religion.

They wear clothes which one should not even wear in front of their Mahram, calling it fashion and modernity. Nudity is not modernity. The first man on earth was naked, when Allah honoured them with knowledge, they started to cover themselves. But people think the other way around - the more naked you are the better you are.

When you see your children imitating the Kuffar it means they have an inferiority complex. They feel that the disbelievers are better than them. They think that their advancement in technology and science is a measure of success with Allah. They measure success with Allah according to worldly measurement. Allah says in Surah Al-Fajr [89:15-16]:

"As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me."

"But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!"

This is not how you judge the situation. Look at the previous verses. What happened to Ad, Thamud, and Pharoah? Allah gave them power and authority in the land, properties, wealth, forces and Allah destroyed them. If they really were honoured with Allah, Allah would not have humiliated and destroyed them.

Ask your children: Why did Allah do this to them, even though they were more advanced than us? Till now they do not know how they engineered the pyramids. And Allah destroyed them.

Allah will never honour the disbelievers. Allah will honour the Awliyaa, who believe and have Taqwa.

After knowing that Allah is the One who gives العزة, we should seek it from Allah.

Also, we should take the believers as our allies, not the disbelievers. The believer is a friend of the believer. Allah said about the hypocrites in Surah An-Nisa [4:139]:

"Those who take disbelievers for Auliya' (protectors or helpers or friends) instead of believers, do they seek honour, power and glory with them? Verily, then to Allah belongs all honour, power and glory."

The hypocrites took the disbelievers as their allies. Why? Seeking honour and power.

E.g. People proudly say, "My degree is from so and so country."

All the عزة is from and due to Allah. The honour is not having a degree from such and such country; honour comes from Allah and is for the believer who is a Muttaqi. Do not be like the hypocrites; seek the عزة from Allah.

(Blessed are You, O Lord, and Exalted)

تبارك is an Attribute of Allah.

In the Hadith regarding Sahl Ibn Haneef

Imam Ahmad, Malik, al-Nasai and Ibn Hibban narrated from Sahl ibn Haneef that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and traveled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharar in al-Jahfah. There Sahl ibn Haneef did ghusl (bathed), and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Amir ibn Rabee’ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn K’ab looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head.” He said, “Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?” They said, “‘Amir ibn Rabee’ah looked at him.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called ‘Amir and rebuked him strongly. He said, “Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him.” Then he said to him, “Wash yourself for him.” So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izaar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him.  Classed as saheeh (authentic) by al-Albani in al-Mishkat.

The Prophet said, "هلا إذا رأيت ما يعجبك بركت؟" (If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him)

You should say: اللهم بارك فيه or اللهم بارك له. Some people say تبارك الله. This is not a supplication, it is an attribute of Allah.

All Allah's Attributes are great and His beneficence and is broad.

Allah is the One who puts Barakah in people, things, and matters. Things will not benefit the person; Allah is the One that puts the Barakah. You have to have the belief in your heart that no one can grant Barakah except Allah, because He is attributed with it.

Allah is the Most High, there is nothing above Him. He is High in His Essence, He is above the seven heavens. He is High is His Attributes. He is High in His Power

We should tell our children that Allah is the Most Great, the Most High. We need to make a Qibla for our children; where they immediately run to when they are afraid or need something. In order to do this, We need to always emphasize Allah's Greatness and Highness, His Power, His Strength, His Ability to do everything. We want our children's hearts to be attached and directed to Allah.

Saudi employees were sent to Japan. When an earthquake struck the area they were in and the building shook, these employees immediately pro steered and the Japanese started running frantically around the room. If you do not make a Qibla to Allah for your child, he will be like this Japanese man. He will be lost in this Dunya, looking for a direction, for salvation, for someone to rescue him

Belief #5 - "لا منجا منك إلا إليك" - There is no place of safety from you except in you

This addition to the Dua Qunoot is authenticated and affirmed in the Sunnah, as mentioned by Al-Albani.

There is no fleeing from Allah, or from His punishment, except to return back to Him in repentance. If you are seeking a refuge or shelter, you do not have except Allah to go to. You did wrong, how can you run away or escape from Allah? So you should go back to Allah.

There are some whom when they commit sin, try to run away by committing more sins. The Shaytan tells them that there is no hope or shelter. There is a way;- they should go back to Allah. Allah will take you into His shelter, accept your repentance, and forgive you. We have to give this hope to our children when they commit sin; not let them despair in the Mercy of Allah.
