Concept #1 - الهداية

Concept #2 - العافية

Concept #3 - الولاية

Concept #4 - البركة

The mother or teacher should teach her children that البركة is from Allah; She should seek بركة in her time, life, study, and in everything, from Allah.

البركة = Continuous, growing benefit.

The mother or teacher should also teach her children how to be blessed wherever they may be. To be blessed is to be beneficial wherever you are.

How do I make my child a blessed person? Draw her attention to what Allah has gifted her of talents.

Your children may not know their talents. You should observe and tell them what they are good at.

Say: You are good at this and this, why don't you use it to benefit people?

Also draw their attention to be thankful to Allah for this blessing

The youth like to be famous. Tell your child: It is not important to be famous; it is more important to be blessed. To be blessed means that no one that sits next to you, but you benefit him as much as you are able toTake advantage of the situations you go through to get reward with AllahAnd whomever Allah makes a blessed person, Allah will reward abundantly. Do not be stingy with your abilities.

E.g. Your daughter is good at cooking. Someone asks for a recipe and she says, "No, it is a secret"

This is not a blessed person. The blessed person thinks of the reward of all the people that cook from that recipe

Look at the people as gates of reward for you. And the most blessed person is the one who teaches people Tawheed. If you fill the hearts of your children with knowledge, they will speak. You might find children in elementary schools who know and say what is right and wrong, because their parents taught them to distinguish between right and wrongIf your son or daughter is a blessed person, you will be the one getting the reward. If they are not blessed, you will be the loser.

E.g. Your son is not good at speaking but he has physical strength. Tell him to take this and that to the poor. And teach him to have a good intention when he does that. You be the person who encourages him to benefit others with what he is good at

But do not ask him to do something he is not good at, you will ruin him, cause him to become frustrated and depressed.

Concept #5 - "وقني شر ما قضيت" (Protect me from the evil you have decreed)

We do not attribute evil to Allah, but we are certain that Allah decrees and sends down the decrees, and these decrees are either good or evil.

E.g. Sickness. This is apparently something evil, because we do not like to be sick.

But this evil is not pure evil. There is a good reason and a wisdom behind it because it is coming from Allah, whose actions are all good. So what do we say about sickness if it befalls the people?

E.g. If a sickness befalls a tyrant person or someone who is deviated from the right path it could be a reason for him to leave his tyranny and go back to Allah

E.g. A sickness for a righteous person would be a purification of sins and elevation in ranks.

So although sickness is evil, it is all good. You should see what is behind that decree, and ask Allah to keep you firm at times of calamities.

In this supplication, you are asking Allah for protection from behaving in a way displeasing to Him. You are asking Allah protection from doing or saying something that is against what Allah wants from you.

E.g. The current situation in the Muslim Word of the Fitnah of killing, people being expelled from their countries, homeless people, etc. Is this good or evil? It is evil. But what is the good in this evil?

There are people who are not protected or guided by Allah, and they think bad about Allah and say, "Why is Allah not defending the Muslims? Why is Allah letting the disbelievers overpower the Muslims?" These words are displeasing to Allah; it is as if you are accusing the wisdom of Allah.

When you say "وقني شر ما قضيت" you are asking Allah to make you think in the right way, so you do not say a word which is displeasing to Allah. You will say: This is a means of purification of their sins, a way to Paradise, and at the same time the hypocrites would be known, and the disbelievers will increase in sin to the extent that they will deserve the severe punishment of Allah.

This is like as Allah mentioned in Surah Al-Burooj, when the disbelievers kindled a fire in a ditch and burnt the Muslims. Allah said regarding the believers in Surah Al-Burooj [75:10-11]:

"Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire."

"Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success."

When they are thrown in the fire of the Dunya, they will directly go to the Paradise of the Hereafter. These whom we see dead and killed, are inshallah going to Paradise.

We should observe all the events that either happen in our private lives or in the community.

In the event of the slander of Aisha رضي الله عنها, when the hypocrites accused her chastity, the event was evil. But after this event, Allah declared her innocence, and it is recited in the Quran until the establishment of the Day of Judgement. This is an honour for her. Do not look at the evil, look at the good and wisdom behind the situation.

If a person is afflicted and shows patience and is grateful to Allah, his sins will be forgiven, and he will walk on the land like a person who has no sins. This is a great Mercy for Allah on that person.

Even if the evil already happened, you ask Allah with this Dua, so that this evil does not cause a Fitnah for you. Some people may apostate after an evil occurs to them. Allah is testing you, so ask Him to protect you from the evil He ordained

After asking Allah 5 requests, What are the beliefs that should be established in our hearts?

#1 - "فإنك تقضي و لا يقضى عليك"

(You are the One who commands and no one can pass his command upon You)

We should believe that we are owned by Allah. Allah is our ملك, and the whole dominion belongs to Him. He created us, brought us into existence, and He manages and disposes our affairs. He decreed and commands for us:

1) Legal Commands (حكم شرعي)

I.e. Halal and Haraam

2) Universal Commands (حكم قدري)

I.e. Decreed Events

3) Recompense (حكم جزائ)

When Allah commands, no one can reject, refuse, or repel the حكم الله. Whatever He wills will happen

الله يقضي و لا يقضى عليه

Allah is العزيز; His command is executive. No one can repel the command of Allah, No one can stop the command of Allah. What He wills will happen. And all His commands are based on justice, mercy, wisdom, etc.

We have to teach this to our children. We should teach them the Name of Allah الظاهر; The One who is Most High, whom nothing is aboveIf Allah wills something, nothing can stop Him.

Children watch cartoons and see characters like super man having power, commanding, controlling things, coming from the sky - so they believe that someone other than Allah controls the world. If you do not hasten to teach your children that no one controls the world except Allah, these cartoons will distort their فطرة (natural disposition).  Those who make cartoons want to destroy the concept of God in the hearts of children.

If you do not teach your child that Allah is القوي، العزيز، الظاههر, others will teach them wrong concepts which are contrary to their فطرة. Do not let the hearts of your children be attached to the cartoon characters. You need to tell them that Allah is the One who controls everything, is able to do everything, just ask Him to protect you, and He will protect you

Say: Allah is قادر على كل شيء; He is able to do everything

Your child will then magnify Allah.
