Impacts of Believing in the Name of Allah العليم

#3
And Allah mentioned that His Knowledge encompasses the secrets, the open, the unseen, and the seen.

EVIDENCES:

1) Surah Ibrahim [14:38]:

"O our Lord! Certainly, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing on the earth or in the heaven is hidden from Allah."

This is mentioned in the context of Ibrahim عليه السلام making Dua, to indicate that Allah knows the truthfulness of your heart when you ask for requests. You may say many good things with your tongue, but Allah knows your intention behind that request, and what you want from that supplication. We should therefore be truthful with Allah.

2) Surah Ghafir [40:19]:

"Allah knows the fraud of the eyes, and all that the breasts conceal."

خائنة الأعين is to steal glances at what is unlawful. No one else may be able to detect it, but Allah Knows about it, and will take account of you for it. We have to be careful at what we look at.

3) Surah Qaf [50:16]:

"And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge)."

Allah knows what your self whispers to you.
Four types of thoughts cross the heart of the person, two of which we are accountable for. We are not accountable for:
1) خاطرة - Passing Thoughts
Thoughts which you discuss with yourself for some time.

We are however accountable for:
3) الهم - Intention
You think of that thought and discuss it with yourself, until it becomes an intention. Then it becomes:

A Resolution
Nothing will stop you from doing it. The night just needs to pass and you will do it.

Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله said that the heart is always concerned and intending to do things. It either is preoccupied with intending good, or preoccupied with intending evil.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ، ثُمَّ بَيَّنَ ذَلِكَ
"Allah ordered (the appointed angels over you) that the good and the bad deeds be written, and He then showed (the way) how (to write).

If somebody intends to do a good deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write for him a full good deed (in his account with Him);

E.g. He wants to perform ablution to recite the Quran. If he does not do it, regardless if it is intentional or unintentional, it will be written as a good deed for him.

E.g. He intended to give charity did not end up giving it for any reason. It will be written as Hasanah.

and if he intends to do a good deed and actually did it, then Allah will write for him (in his account) with Him (its reward equal) from ten to seven hundred times to many more times:

The difference in reward is according to how much sincerity the person has and how much he follows the Sunnah. Ibn Othaimeen رحمه الله said that the more sincere a person is, and the more he follows the Sunnah, the more his reward will be. The less his sincerity, the less he follows the Sunnah, the less reward he will get. This is why the reward varies between people, although they may have performed the same deed.

and if somebody intended to do a bad deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write a full good deed (in his account) with Him,

In another narration it states "he does not do it out of fear of Allah"
Therefore, if a person wanted to do bad, but abandoned it out of fear of Allah, Allah will write it as a good deed.

and if he intended to do it (a bad deed) and actually did it, then Allah will write one bad deed (in his account) ." [Bukhari #6491]

Also if someone resolved to do a bad deed, but failed to do it, a bad deed is written in his account.
E.g. He intended to steal, but was not able to because he could not open the safe or the police caught him. He is equal to the person who already performed the bad deed, the evidence being the Hadith:

It was narrated from Abu Musa that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When two Muslims confront one another with their swords, both the killer and the slain will be in Hell.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, (we understand about) this killer, but what is wrong with the one who is slain?” He said: “He wanted to kill his companion.’” [Ibn Majah #3964]

We should always intend to do good. Intend to go for Hajj, to Umrah, etc. because even if you do not do it, you will have a reward for your intention. It does not cost you much; do not be miserly with yourself. The hearts of the righteous are always boiling with good intentions, wheras the hearts of the wicked are always boiling with bad intentions. So look at your intentions and from them you can judge whether you have a good heart or not. Allah knows about your intentions - He is العليم بسرائر.

This is a commerce with Allah. The more good intentions you have, the more prosperous your business will be.

4) Surah Al-Baqarah [2:235]:

"And there is no sin on you if you make a hint of betrothal or conceal it in yourself, Allah knows that you will remember them, but do not make a promise of contract with them in secret except that you speak an honourable saying according to the Islamic law (e.g. you can say to her, "If one finds a wife like you, he will be happy"). And do not consummate the marriage until the term prescribed is fulfilled. And know that Allah knows what is in your minds, so fear Him. And know that Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Forbearing."

This is about a man who wants to propose to a woman who is in her Iddah after her husband died.

"عرّضتم"
Hint / Indirect Reference
You cannot directly ask her to marry you, but you can hint.

"واعلموا أن الله يعلم في انفسكم فاحذروا"
This is a severe warning from Allah. Allah Knows what is inside your inner self, so you should beware of Allah. This should frighten us. We should be careful of Allah; we should fear His Punishment.

"واعلموا أنّ الله غفور حليم"
And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Forbearing.

Allah knows what we are hiding in our hearts. Do not directly propose to the woman in her Iddah or make a contract with her secretly. Even if no one knows, Allah is the All Knower of the secrets. When her Iddah finishes, you are allowed to directly propose.

If you have a wicked, evil thought, and you show people contrary to what is in your heart, then Allah Knows about it. People may praise you, but you know what is in your heart of evil, so do not be deceived by their praise.

Someone told Imam Ahmed that he had seen a good dream about him. Imam Ahmed replied that this would not deceive him, as the same thing was said about a person who was now fighting alongside the Khawarij.

The person who knows that Allah knows what is in his heart will purify his heart and not be deceived by the praise of the people. He will not rejoice nor think good of himself when people praise him.

5) Surah Baqarah [2:76-77]:

"And when they (Jews) meet those who believe (Muslims), they say, "We believe", but when they meet one another in private, they say, "Shall you (Jews) tell them (Muslims) what Allah has revealed to you [Jews, about the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him , that which are written in the Taurat (Torah)] , that they (Muslims) may argue with you (Jews) about it before your Lord?" Have you (Jews) then no understanding?"

The Jews used to tell the Muslims that they believed, but when they went away in private, they would tell each other not to disclose what Allah revealed to them of the reality of the Prophet ﷺ in the Torah, otherwise the Muslims would take it as an evidence against them. Allah said to them in Verse 77:

"Know they (Jews) not that Allah knows what they conceal and what they reveal?"

6) Surah An-Nahl [16:19]:

"And Allah knows what you conceal and what you reveal."

7) Surah Tawbah [9:78]:

"Know they not that Allah knows their secret ideas, and their Najwa (secret counsels), and that Allah is the All-Knower of the unseen."

In the previous verses:

"And of them are some who made a covenant with Allah (saying): "If He bestowed on us of His Bounty, we will verily, give Sadaqah (Zakat and voluntary charity in Allah's Cause) and will be certainly among those who are righteous."

"Then when He gave them of His Bounty, they became niggardly [refused to pay the Sadaqah (Zakat or voluntary charity)], and turned away, averse."

"So He punished them by putting hypocrisy into their hearts till the Day whereon they shall meet Him, because they broke that (covenant with Allah) which they had promised Him and because they used to tell lies."

The context is about the hypocrites. They made a covenant with Allah, saying that if Allah gave them of His bounty, they would spend out of it. Then Allah gave them, but they broke that covenant. They were miserly and niggardly and did not spend. Allah then punished them by putting hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they meet Him. Then, Allah said in Verse 78:

"Know they not that Allah knows their secret ideas, and their Najwa (secret counsels), and that Allah is the All-Knower of the unseen."

What is the problem with the hypocrites? They have lack of knowledge about Allah's Knowledge and Awareness. This is why they showed something contrary to what was concealed in their hearts.  They thought they could deceive Allah.
Allah knows about their secrets and their secret counsels. And Allah Knows the secrets of all the unseen. Every verse you read should have an impact on your belief.

Note: When Allahs decrees descend upon someone and it is a severe calamity, we should not look at its severity. We should instead look at the Mercy of Allah in that situation, regardless if the person is a sinner or a righteous person.

When Allah sends the Qadar on the sinner, we should not say he does not deserve it, it is unfair, etc. because the One who decreed that affliction upon him is more Merciful than us. Because, when Allah, the Merciful, decreed it for that person, He did so for a wisdom. He is العليم الحكيم
E.g. A man deals with Riba. Allah afflicts him with loss of all properties so he has no money to feed himself or his family. Allah wills to purify him from his sin, and wills to make him quit that sin, to protect him from Hellfire, whose punishment is severer than this calamity.

Allah Knows best why He is afflicting him with that calamity. In it is a mercy from Allah; to purify him from his sins. It is good for him; if he shows patience

Similarly, If the person is righteous we should not say that he does not deserve it. How do you know? You do not know what Allah wills for that person. If the person is really righteous this calamity will elevate him in ranks. Allah does not want him to be in a low degree in Paradise; he wants him to be in a higher degree.

We should also not tell anyone that their affliction is a punishment from Allah. We should not speak about Allah without Knowledge. It could be an expiation of sins, elevation in rank, etc. We are not supposed to judge people or the Qadar of Allah. Our minds are deficient and cannot encompass the Knowledge of Allah.

If we meet anyone whom Allah has afflicted, we should help him be patient. Help him by encouraging him to have hope in Allah, by invoking for him in his absence, asking Allah to relieve him, cure him, remove the calamity.

The most important thing that should concern us is to be admitted into Paradise and saved from Hellfire. So be patient and endure that calamity patiently, and you will be rewarded abundantly. You may be protected from entering Hellfire because of that calamity. "والله يعلم و أنتم لا تعلمون" - Allah Knows and you do not know. Be patient, wait for the relief, even if you wait your entire life. This life is not important, what is important is the Day of Judgement. Perhaps this calamity you hate, will be a means from protecting you from Hellfire, a means of elevation of ranks with you in Paradise, a means of attaining Allah's Pleasure and Pardon.

8) Surah Ta-Ha [20:110]:

"He (Allah) knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them (in the Hereafter), and they will never compass anything of His Knowledge."

BELIEF: "و لا يحيطون به علما" - (and they will never compass anything of His Knowledge)
Allah's Knowledge encompasses everything, but we cannot encompass Allah's Knowledge with our knowledge. We cannot encompass any of His Attributes; they are infinite. We cannot realize their true reality,  pno matter how much knowledge we may have.

The distance between the earth and the nearest heaven is a journey of five hundred years. And the distance between the nearest heaven and the second heaven is five hundred years. The distance between the second and third is a journey of five hundred years. And this is until the seventh heaven. The Throne of Allah is above the seventh heaven. Allah rises above the Throne in a matter which suits His Majesty. Although Allah is there, He knows the movement of our hearts, what we conceal in ourselves, the fraud of our eyes. We cannot grasp this with our mind. We fail in even imagining. And this is a very important belief. What you know of Knowlege is nothing in comparison to what you do not  know. Do not be proud and arrogant. What Allah taught you is just a drop in an ocean.
It is impossible for us to comprehend the Attributes of Allah.

E.g. The Attribute of قيومية. Allah is Self-Subsisting and subsists all of His creation. The creation of Allah includes everything in the heavens and earth, every human, every devil, every animal, every plant. Allah knows them all, discharges all their affairs; even the fetus in the womb of its mother; even the seed which is in the depth of the earth. Allah Knows about it and sends rain to it in order to sprout. Allah is قيوم over everything and every creation. We cannot encompass this perfect attribute of Allah no matter how much we think about it. "و لا يحيطون به علما"

Look at his Kindness, Wisdom, etc. Although Allah teaches us and makes us see some of the impacts of His attributes, it is just to keep us firm and live in this Dunya. This is one part of the millions, and we will see just how great they are on the Day of Judgement, yet we will never be able to fully encompass them. We have to admit that we are deficient and cannot encompass Allah's Greatness. What Allah taught us is nothing in comparison to what we do not know. The more you learn about Allah, the more you feel that we are nothing in front of Him.
