And from them (the effects of sins): Matters being made difficult on the person, so he does not face a matter except he finds it closed or difficult on him; Just as Allah makes the affairs of those who have Taqwa of Him easy. So whoever leaves Taqwa, Allah will make his affairs difficult. And, O Allah, it is strange! How can a slave find the doors of good and reformation closed on him and their way made difficult on him, and he does not know from where it came from?!
Nothing goes smoothly with this person - everything he wants to do is blocked. The problem is not the problem, the problem is the sins you committed.
A person may say that he did not commit a sin. But sometimes we do not know that we are committing a sin, because we get so used to comitting it, that we do not feel like it is a sin anymore. Its these results which will hit us. So look at yourself - If there is any matter getting difficult in your life, make توبة + استغفار as a remedy.
Taqwa is to prevent yourself from falling into sin. And if you practice Taqwa, Allah will make your affairs easy for you. Do not think you or your Wasta has the ability to make things easy for you - Taqwa is your Wasta - not this or that person. In Surah Al-Hujurat [49:13]:
"...Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa...."
Sometimes you are waiting in line at the cashier and see that the other line is going quicker, and so you join that line, but it gets stuck. This does not happen at random. If any matter in your life gets difficult, it is because of your sins. And Taqwa makes things easy for you.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
اتق الله حيثما كنت واتبع السيئة الحسنة تمحها، وخالق الناس بخلق حسن
"Fear Allah wherever you are, do good deeds after doing bad ones, the former will wipe out the latter, and behave decently towards people." [At- Tirmidhi]
When matters are made difficult do not say this or that; it goes back to yourself. If anything is made difficult, whether it is in your business, children, husband, life, then do توبة (repentance) and استغفار (seek forgiveness).

And from them: Real Darkness the person finds in his heart.
He feels it just as he feels the darkness of the night when it is black. So the darkness of the sins to his heart is like the tangible darkness to his sight; for obedience is light, and disobedience is darkness. And the more the darkness strengthens, the more his confusion increases, until he falls into innovation, and misguidance, and destructive matters, and he does not realize it.
When in darkness, the person will be exposed to everything. This is why it is important to advise others, because when a person falls into darkness, the Shaytan will take him. When you see sins committed, you need to stop it, because the person may fall into darkness and into other problems without him realizing it.
Abdullah bin Abbas رضي الله عنه said, “Verily, good deeds brighten the face, are a light in the heart, expand provision, strengthen the body, and cause love in the hearts of the creation. Verily, evil deeds blacken the face, are a darkness in the heart, weaken the body, restrict provision, and cause hatred in the hearts of the creation.”
Do not do good deeds for this purpose; do it for Allah. And through doing good sincerely for Allah, will you get these benefits.
We give excuses to justify how we feel, but it is because of our sins. We seperate our lives from the religion, but it is connected. When you feel tired and confused, seek forgiveness.
Sins cause people to hate you, and they do not even know why. And good deeds cause people to love you, and they do not even know why. Because Allah puts this feeling.

And from them: Sins cause weakness to the heart and body.
As for causing weakness in the heart, then this is something apparent; it will not stop weakening it until it removes the life in it totally.
Good deeds increase your energy, and sins decrease it.
And as for weakness in body, then the strength of the believer is in his heart. And every time the strength of his heart increases, the strength of his body increases.
How would you keep your body healthy and strong? By keeping your heart strong. How will you keep your heart strong? By not committing sins. Avoid what weakens you and causes your heart to be sick. If you are surrounded with bad people, it can affect you. There are people whom you cannot avoid or take out of your life, but you need to overcome it by remembering Allah.
As for the Faajir, even if he may have a strong body, he is the weakest thing when it comes to needs.
He does not have strength at the time he really needs it.
And ponder over the physical strength of the Persians and Romans, how it failed them when they needed it, and the People of Faith overpowered them with the strength of their bodies and hearts.
