Day 10: Surah Al-Hajj - (12/9/16)

Verse 75:

"Allah chooses Messengers from angels and from men. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Seer."

Allah mentioned the Messengers because they are those who will tell you the way to Allah. Allah is the One who chooses the Messengers from Angels and Messengers, and they are the best. Allah's Choosing is not at random; it is based on His Wisdom.

Allah Hears and Sees everyone and everything. Even before the Messengers existed, Allah knew which Messenger was suitable, because He is All Hearer and All Seer of what the Messenger would say and do in the future.

Verse 76:

"He knows what is before them, and what is behind them. And to Allah return all matters (for decision)."

Allah's Choice is based on Hearing, Seeing, and His Encompassing Knowledge.

In another Verse [6:124], Allah says:
اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُ ۗ
"..Allah knows best with whom to place His Message..."

Allah Knows who is worthy to convey His Message. Therefore, do not argue with the Messengers.
The duty of the Messengers is to convey the message, but the recompense and the end returns to Allah.

Plan wherever you plan, choose whatever you choose, but in the end, all the matters will return to Allah. In life, When Allah chose this father for this children, these neighbours, this husband for this wife, it is because this is the best situation. Allah's Choice is based in Hearing, Seeing, Knowledge.

Verse 77:

"O you who believe! Bow down, and prostrate yourselves, and worship your Lord and do good that you may be successful."

At the end of the Surah, Allah commands the believers. After the journey of Hajj, what will you take back with you?

Bow down
Prostrate

These are the pillars of prayer, but Allah mentioned it seperately. Take care of your Salat, by taking care of your Rukoo' and Sujood.

Worship your Lord
Be a Slave of your Rabb; Your Reformer and Nurturer.

Do All Good
Generally do good to everyone and everything Allah made it easy for you to do good to.

"لعلكم تفلحون"
As-Sa'di رحمه الله said your happiness is by doing good to yourself, and doing good to others. The first three commands are doing good to yourself. This will strengthen you; and then you can do the fourth command, which is to benefit others. If you do these two you will attain success.

Verse 78:

"And strive hard in Allah's Cause as you ought to strive (with sincerity and with all your efforts that His Name should be superior). He has chosen you (to convey His Message of Islamic Monotheism to mankind by inviting them to His religion, Islam), and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship, it is the religion of your father Ibrahim (Abraham) (Islamic Monotheism). It is He (Allah) Who has named you Muslims both before and in this (the Quran), that the Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ) may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind! So perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), give Zakat and hold fast to Allah [i.e. have confidence in Allah, and depend upon Him in all your affairs] He is your Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.), what an Excellent Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.) and what an Excellent Helper!"

Continue your struggle after Hajj. Keeping moving, struggling, striving for the sake of Allah.

What will make you do that?

Remember the favour of Allah upon you: "هو اجتباكم" - He chose you to be a Muslim, to read the Quran, to listen to the Qur'an, to understand it.

"و ما جعل عليكم في الدين من حرج" - Allah did not command you with anything except that it is within your scope.

"ملة أبيكم إبراهيم" - All of this is the Religion of your forefather, Ibrahim عليه السلام. Hajj in general reminds us of Ibrahim عليه السلام.

"هو سماكم المسلمين من قبل وفي هذا ليكون الرسول شهيدا عليكم وتكونوا شهداء على الناس"
It is an honour that Allah made us a witness over all people. Allah gave us an identity and a belonging. We need to be one Ummah for One; Allah.

So what do you need to do?

"فأقيموا الصلاة"
"وآتوا الزكاة"

"واعتصموا بالله هو مولاكم"
When you do everything just hold on to Allah. You cannot do any act of worship without Allah. He is your Protecter, and He is the best Guardian. Do not leave the guardianship of Allah because:

"فنعم المولى ونعم النصير"
He is the Best Guardian and the Best Helper. This is who Allah; your Goal is. To go to Allah, you need Allah.
