سورة التغابن - Surah At-Taghaabun
Theme: خطورة بعض الأولاد و الأزواج - The danger of some children and spouses
يوم التغابون refers to the Day of Judgement. It's a day where you'll see the reality of everything; there'll be people raised high, and people put down low. The criminals and sinners will realize that they are losers on that Day, and didn't do anything good.
الغبن = They were deceived, and thought they were doing good, but on the Day of Judgement they'll find no reward.
In the beginning of the Surah, Allah tells us about Himself. In [64:1-4]:
"Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. His is the dominion, and to Him belong all the praises and thanks, and He is Able to do all things."
"He it is Who created you, then some of you are disbelievers and some of you are believers. And Allah is All-Seer of what you do."
"He has created the heavens and the earth with truth, and He shaped you and made good your shapes, and to Him is the final Return."
"He knows what is in the heavens and on earth, and He knows what you conceal and what you reveal. And Allah is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men)."
Where is لا اله الا الله mentioned in the Surah? Verse 13.
After Allah mentions the Day of Judgmeent, the believers and disbelievers, Allah gives us two pieces of information in Verses 11 and 12 which prevent us from deceiving ourselves. Then comes the verse which لا اله الا الله is mentioned in. Verse 11 is about calamity, Verse 12 about obedience, Verse 13 about attachment and reliance.
"No calamity befalls, but with the Leave [i.e. decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allah, and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart [to the true Faith with certainty, i.e. what has befallen him was already written for him by Allah from the Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], and Allah is the All-Knower of everything."
No problem afflicts you, whether big or small, whether it affects money, children, beloved ones, except that it occurs by the permission of Allah. Allah knows about it and Allah is able to do anything.
Don't get involved in the calamity, but focus on what your duty is:- "و من يؤمن بالله يهد قلبه"
If you believe in Allah, and believe that Allah knows everything, and that He is the Most-Merciful, and all His Names and Attributes, Allah will guide your heart and grant you firmness in the calamity. It is Allah who gives the firmness during the calamity. The more faith you have, the more content, rest, satisfaction you will have.
Allah is the All-Knower of everything. If there is a problem, Allah is testing you - and this calamity makes apparent if you are a believer or disbeliever.
"Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ), but if you turn away, then the duty of Our Messenger is only to convey (the Message) clearly."
After belief, Allah will grant you firmness. Then Allah commands you to obey Allah and His Messenger ﷺ because that's where your happiness and success is. Sometimes we change according to the situation, this is why firmness is important. Follow Allah and His Messnger ﷺ's instructions, and you will not be misguided.
"Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and in Allah (Alone), therefore, let the believers put their trust."
All the legislations and rules go under لا اله الا الله.
If you want to protect yourself from الغبن, from destruction, from cheating and deceiving yourself, attach yourself to Allah and rely on Him. You don't have anyone to attach to except Him.We don't want to be losers on the Day of Judgement.
And the believers only rely on Allah in all aspects. There is no matter that because easy except with Allah. You need to rely on Allah, trust Him, and think good of Him. The stronger your belief, the stronger your Tawakkul. If you want to strengthen your Tawakkul, strengthen your لا اله الا الله.
And the Mutawakileen go to Paradise without accounting, because they rely on Allah completely, even to go to Paradise. Rely on Allah, so you don't feel even a little bit of regret on the Day of Judgement.
In the next verses, Allah tells us the causes of الغبن:
"O you who believe! Verily, among your wives and your children there are enemies for you (i.e. may stop you from the obedience of Allah), therefore beware of them! But if you pardon (them) and overlook, and forgive (their faults), then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
"Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise)."
After Allah commands us to attach ourselves to Him and rely on Him, He informs us that from our spouses and children are enemies, so be cautious of them. They may cause you to be deceived without you and they realizing; your love and attachment to them may cause you to forget the rules of Allah, to disobey Allah because of them.
Some spouses and children, especially those who aren't on the religion, can be challenging to deal with. You don't have to avoid them, just be careful and cautious. What you need to do is pardon and forgive them, to set the balance.
The highlight of all the verses in this Surah is about Allah.
