Evidence of this Name in the Qur'an:

1) It's mentioned once in Singular Form
[34:26]

2) Once in Plural
[7:86]:

It's more commonly found in verb form in the Qur'an:
1) [6:44]:

To open

2) [7:96]:

To open

3) [15:14]:

To actually open a باب من السماء.

4) [7:40]:

5) [23:77]:

Allah can open the door of punishment

6) [54:11]:

This is an opening of punishment as a response to the دعاء of a Prophet against his nation.

7) [35:2]:

8) [26:118]:

(i.e. افصل بيننا)

9) [5:52]:

The Meaning of the Name in the Language
-> الفتح is the opposite of الاغلاق
-> It can take the meaning of النصر
"يستفتح" = He seeks help from Allah.

-> It can take the meaning of الحكم

E.g. Opening your bag.
In [12:65]:

Or can be intangible, like asking Allah to open your heart.

-> Whenever anything is constricted for you, ask Allah by His name الفتاح to open it for you.
As for matters of the Dunya, you ask الفتاح to open رزق for you, open for you relief from your distress, etc.
When you don't understand something, ask الفتاح to open for you what's closed of knowledge. Don't give up and say I don't understand. Allah is الفتاح.

We've all gone through some form of oppression in life. How can we deal with it?
1) Attach yourself to الفتاح. Ask Him to judge between you and the person who oppressed you. Don't be busy with them. Attach your heart to Allah, الفتاح, and He will deal them
2) Deal with them with Allah's name العفو. Pardon them, seeking Allah's pardoning on you. The Dunya isn't the place to get all your rights.

We see the disbelievers oppressing the Muslims, but we know with certainty, that Allah is a witness over them, and He will undoubtedly judge between them.
In [83:29-36]:

Don't be depressed. Don't say that the Muslims in the world are not being helped. The situation will be the other way around on the Day of Judgement. These verses are a

All what you see is a test. Allah is able to shake the earth under them, destroy them completely. But the test is if you really believe Islam is the truth.
That's why we are tested in life in general. In [6:17]:

"و إن يمسسك الله بضر"
First Test: Do you believe that whatever touches you is from Allah, so you're accordingly pleased?

In the Hadith:

Second Test: Who will you run to, to remove the distress?

Be pleased with Allah and seek the opening only from Him

When you know that only Allah is الفتاح, why would you run to the doors of anyone else? It's Allah who creates the أسباب, and it's Allah who make it easy for you. Attach yourself to Him and believe with certainty that He is the One who can open what's closed. When you do, He'll open up everything for you.

He'll open up your heart, provision, subject His creation to help you, etc. But this only comes when you believe that He is the only one who is الفتاح.
How can you run to the doors of the weak, and leave the door of the King?

If you go to a palace, and the King sends orders to the guard to open the door, will you attribute the opening of the door to the guard, or would you overlook his existence and attribute the Kings message as the reason the door was opened?
This is our state with Allah. Our hearts should be with the King, who ordered the door to be opened for you.

In [39:29]:

Allah sets forth a parable for us:
A man who's a slave to many masters, running here and there, tiring himself to please all of them. And a man - The Muwwahid - who is at peace with just One Master to please.

Are they equal?

But most people don't know. Most people have missed out on the Jannah of this Dunya - Tawheed; to have your heart attached to One, who is able to do anything.

In [82:6]:

And yet, in [35:15]:

This is the mercy of Allah, He doesn't want your heart to be attached to someone who is weak and poor like you.
Believe in Allah. If Allah owns everything, then He is the One who opens, He is الفتاح.
الملك ملك الله, so don't seek from other than Him.

And opening something for you right now might not be good, it may be good for you a year from now. He is All-Wise. He will deal with you with His لطف. Didn't Yusuf say after 30 years, in [12:100]:

Every time you increase your attachment to Allah, the more your attachment to the means decreases.

-> Sometimes we find ourselves learning, learning, but our hearts are still hard. And we know that there's a piece of flesh in the body, if it is reformed, the rest of the body will be reformed, and if it's corrupted, the rest of the body will be corrupted.

Ask Allah by His name الفتاح to open the lock in your heart, so that knowledge can enter it, and benefit you.

If you want to pray Qiyam AlLayl, if you want to finish the Qur'an, ask الفتاح to open it for you.

And with regards to your kids; no one can open up their hearts to accept and love prayer, except الفتاح. Their hearts are locked and need to be opened. And no one can open it except الفتاح.
We don't even have the power to benefit ourselves, so how can we expect to have the power to benefit our children? In [7:188]:

Be a believer in Him. He will give you the رزق from places you don't expect.

It's from weak faith to praise people for what Allah has given you, and to criticize and blame them for what Allah has withheld from you.

Believe with certainty that none from the creation can close what Allah opened for you, nor open what Allah has closed for you. But no one believes in this except the believer.
