Name of Allah الرقيب - Introduction - 5a

Don't ever think that learning about Allah is a waste of time. Acquiring knowledge about Allah's Names and Attributes is the noblest of all knowledges, worshipping Allah is the noblest of all actions, praising Allah is the most noble of utterances, and seeking His countenance and pleasure is the noblest goal.

It was narrated from Suhayb ar-Roomi (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: “When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, Allah – may He be blessed and exalted – will say: ‘Do you want anything more?’ They will say: Have You not made our faces bright? Have You not admitted us to Paradise and saved us from Hell?’ Then the veil will be removed and they will not be given anything more beloved to them than looking at their Lord, may He be glorified and exalted.”  [Muslim]

In (10:26):

Seeing Allah is the زيادة.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
«إِنَّ اللهَ يَتَجَلَّى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَضْحَك»
"Allah will appear before the believers while He is laughing" [Muslim]

The laughter of Allah is not like the laughter of humans. It's something that suits His majesty. We can only expect good from a Lord that laughs.

When the slave knows Allah, worships Him, performs what He commanded, abstains from what He forbids, then he has fulfilled his purpose in life. Allah said in (51:56):

We need knowledge about Allah more than we need food and drink - in order to attain tranquility and happiness in our hearts.

People are of three categories with regards to their knowledge about Allah:
1) People who are keen to know and worship Allah by His names and attributes
2) People who learn but don't dedicate themselves to it
3) People who are deprived. They live and die without tasting the sweetness of knowing Allah. They are truly deprived.

Allah loves those who are attributed with the implication of His Names and Attributes.
E.g. Allah is العليم, He loves العلماء
E.g. Allah is الستير, He loves concealment, and those who conceal.
E.g. Allah is merciful, and loves those who show mercy.
E.g. Allah is الرقيب, He loves those are aware of His watchfulness - and accordingly watch their actions, thoughts, etc.

If you try apply this in your life, Allah will love you.

The basis of الحنيفية is knowledge about Allah's names and attributes. The message of all the Prophets and Messengers, according to Ibn AlQayyim, revolved around three important matters:
1) They called their people to know Allah
2) They told their people how to worship/approach Allah
3) They informed their people of what they would get of reward if they did that.

The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is nothing that will take you closer to Paradise but that I have enjoined it upon you, and there is nothing that will take you closer to Hell but that I have warned you from it" [Musnad ash-Shaafi'ee]

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed I have left you upon a clear white path, its night is like its day. No one deviates from it after me, except that he is destroyed.” [Ibn Majah]
