سورة السجدة - Class 5b - 14/2/16

Verse 10:

In Verse 3:

In Verse 3 they denied the Qur'an and called it fabricated. In Verse 10 they denied resurrection. It is a far fetched idea for them that they'd become dust and be lost in the earth to be created into a new creation. They equate their ability to the ability of the creator.
In the previous verses Allah tells us about our first creation:

Allah created us from this land, and Allah will return us back into it, and He will resurrect us from it once again. It should be enough for them to know that Allah created us from nothing. Resurrecting us is even easier.

In Verse 27:

We see Allah giving life to the dead land. This is evidence that Allah is able to give life to us again.

Verse 11:

Allah replies to them. You won't be lost in earth, the angel of death will take your soul, and you will return to Allah.

In (8:50-51):

The Angel of Death will take your soul at the time of death - and He has helpers - either Angels of punishment or mercy.
When the evil soul sees the Angels it doesn't want to go out, so these Angels will hit them until it comes out.

As for the believer - in (41:30-31):

The Angels will give the believer the glad tidings before they take his soul.
If someone promises you something you will wait for it. Allah promised us - and the promise of Allah is true - so the believer waits for the promise of Allah.

Allah then takes us to the Day of Judgement, after death, and describes the situation of the people of hell and their standing before Allah.
In Verse 12:

They lower their head in shame, grief, regret.
You want to be an intelligent person? Take the means to save yourself from the hellfire. This is the real success, and we should teach this to our children. Don't let your greatest wish for them to be a doctor an engineer, but for Allah to save them from the hellfire.
People nowadays think that if you know how to deceive people you are intelligent, and don't think about the hereafter at all.

Don't lose this chance. We are living their wish. We haven't died, we haven't reached the hereafter yet. Ask Allah to help you do good deeds.

In (6:27):

They will stand and see hellfire right in front of them. Look at what they wish for - to be of the believers.

In (35:37):

They will invoke Allah while they're in the hellfire, but it won't benefit them. Invoke Allah here, while it'll benefit you.
The Qur'an, your grey hair, are all warners.

In (23:106-108):

Allah will say to them:

In (33:66):

In (89:23-24):

Your real life is not this Dunya - it's in the hereafter. So prepare for it, do good deeds for it, repent for it. Don't waste your chance.

When you say أستغفر الله, Allah will accept it from you. But in the Day of Judgement no repentance, no apology, will be of any avail.

Your test is in Dunya. Certainty won't benefit you in the next world, but it'll benefit you here. Don't be hesitant or in doubt, because this is the attribute of the hypocrites.

In Verse 13:

The word of Allah doesn't change - If He says something it'll happen for sure.

Guidance is in Allah's hands. If Allah willed He would have guided everyone - But the will of Allah is based on His knowledge + wisdom. We can't even guide the closest people to us.
The Prophet ﷺ couldn't guide His uncle, Ibrahim عليه السلام couldn't guide his father, Lut couldn't guide his wife.
We can't guide our children. It is Allah who guides them. When a person of knowledge reaches 40, he realizes that no one can guide except Allah, and so he says:

Don't lose hope in your children. As long as you're alive and you're a slave of Allah, He will accept your invocation. The strongest weapon for a Mulim is دعاء.
And make your دعاء both in front of your children and in secret. When your child hears that you are invoking Allah for him, being humble to Allah, he will feel your feelings - and your feelings are a worship to Allah. He will learn that he should be humble to Allah, invoke Allah alone, etc. You are dealing with Allah, and Allah will never let you down.
Our time now is full of فتنة, even when our kids are sleeping their phones are in their hands.

Allah is talking about the Qadar here. Allah has already written who will be the dwellers of hellfire and who will be the dwellers of Paradise. Allah knows who deserves Paradise and who deseves Hellfire. But we can't use this as an excuse because we don't know what is written for us - So work and take the means for guidance. Don't sit down and say Allah didn't guide me that's why I'm not doing anything. If you're hungry you will look for food, you won't sit down and say "I'll wait for the food to go inside my mouth". If you want guidance do something so that Allah guides you. Seek guidance from Allah; show Allah that you want it.

Allah said to the Shaytan in (7:18):
