Verse 4:
Allah began this verse with His name الله.
Only He deserves to be worshipped alone.
Why? In the following verses Allah justifies this. He has perfect attributes, ability, knowledge, it is He who runs the affairs.
This is similar to AyatAlKursi. Allah says "الله لا اله الا هو". Then Allah gives us 22 reasons, evidences, why we should worship Him alone.
Worship isn't limited to physical worship. The core of worship is to love and magnify Allah the most. When you know His perfect attributes, you will love Him, glorify him, humiliate yourself to Him, and this is worship.
Allah said in (51:56):
In order to reach our purpose, we need to know.
In (65:12):
The evidence in this verse which justifies why Allah should be worshipped alone:
1) "الذي خلق السماوات و الارض و ما بينهما في ستة أيام"
It is He who created the heavens and earth and all that's between them in 6 days. The Jews say that Allah rested on the seventh day, but Allah tells us in (50:38):
We believe Allah has created the heavens and earth and everything in 6 days. He can create it in a second, but why 6 days? To teach us patience and deliberation.
Allah created us hasty. We want everything to happen quickly.
2) "ثم استوى على العرش"
The throne is the biggest creation of Allah. It is part of our Aqeedah to believe that Allah rose over the throne in a way that suits His majesty. We should teach it to our kids.
There are groups which claim that Allah is everywhere and use the verse, "و هو معكم أينما كنتم" as evidence, but if you look at the context, Allah is referring to his being with us through knowledge, not physical being.
Mu'awiyah as-Sahmi reported: "I had some sheep which I kept between Uhud and Juwaniyyah with a slave-girl to look after them. One day, I went out to check on my sheep and discovered that a wolf had devoured one of them. Since I am just a human, (I became angry) and struck the girl. Later on, I came to the Prophet ﷺ and reported to him the incident. He terrified me with the gravity of my action. I said, 'Messenger of Allah'! Shall I free her (as an expiation of my sin.) He said 'Call her over'. When I did, he asked her, 'Where is Allah?' She said, 'Above the heavens'. Then he asked her, 'Who am I?' She said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ'. Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu `alaihi wasallam) ordered me, 'Free her. She is a believer'." [Muslim]
3) "ما لكم من دونه من ولي و لا شفيع"
If you know Allah is your Wali, practice Tawakkul. Rely on Him. No one can benefit you except by the will of Allah.
The Prophet said whilst advising Ibn Abbas: "...Know that even if the Nation (or the whole community) were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded for you, and that if they gather together to harm you with something, they would not be able to harm you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded against you.."
We need intercession when there's a punishment or a penalty we want to avoid. No one can benefit or remove harm from us except Allah.
There are so many verses in the Qur'an where Allah tells us that if He gives us good, no one can take it away from us, and if He touches us with harm, no one can repel it. This should be a firm belief in your heart. And we should teach it to our children. Don't say, "I will help you, run to me..etc." Don't spoil your children's Aqeedah.
Everything is going to die except Allah. No one knows about your pain except Allah. No one knows your need except Allah. When you know you don't have a protector or intercessor except Allah, you'll direct all your worship to Him alone.
"افلا تتذكرون"
Don't forget this. Allah has perfect attributes. He created the heavens and earth in 6 days. He is able to do anything. He is the only one who can benefit you.
The relation between Verse 3 and 4: Allah sent down to the Qur'an so that we may be guided to know Allah.
The relation between Verses 2 and 4: الرب العالمين is Allah who created the heavens and earth and everything between them in six days...etc. It's as if verse 3 is in parenthesis.
