اسم الله القدوس 9

In (19:65):

Be patient upon worshipping Allah, because no one is like Him. When you are patient, Allah will reward you. When you stand at His gate, He will reward you. You will be rewarded for any feeling you have for the sake of Allah.
The Names of Allah give us the solution to all our life problems.

حسن الظن بالله

We don't accept when someone thinks the opposite of what we really are. Imagine how great a crime it is when we think evil of Allah.

What causes us to think bad of Allah? Our ignorance regarding Him and our tendency to blindly believe what we see in front of us.

My eyes might see something evil, but my belief in Allah is greater than what I see. All His actions are perfect, He is القدوس.

When we think bad about someone, they won't know we are thinking bad about them unless we say it out loud. But when we think bad about Allah, He knows that we're thinking bad about Him. People take account of their actions, but the person who knows Allah by His name القدوس accounts himself for even his thoughts.

How can a person think bad of Allah?
When we think the opposite of what Allah told us. Look through the Qur'an from beginning to end. Our thoughts and beliefs shouldn't contradict what's in the Qur'an and Sunnah.

We need to think good of Allah in His:
a) Commandments and Prohibitions
We may all be outwardly following commandments and abstaining from the prohibitions, but before "سمعنا و أطعنا" is the stage of thinking. What are you thinking before you obey/disobey?

Bad thinking:Why did Allah say we have to wear Hijab? Why do we have to pray? Why do we need to have commands? Why are there tests in life?

The person may not even say it out loud.

Thinking Good:I ignore the evil thoughts.
If you have a slave and give orders, the slave just needs to obey, not argue back and question the wisdom. We are slaves of Allah. Our lives are in His hand. We are here because He created us. And still we argue and think evil of Allah.

It's the hypocrite that thinks bad. He prays and does good deeds but he thinks bad about Allah.

In (82:6):

Have you noticed that when we think a bad thing is going to happen it happens? We think this is normal. It's because when we think negatively, we're not thinking good of Allah. There's no blessing or good when we think negatively.

b) Decrees

Allah says you might hate something and Allah will make a whole lot of good come out from it.

If you have a decree and you complain about it, will it change the decree?
E.g. It's cold. If you complain about it, the weather will be the same. Your complaints will not change the decree, it will just add negativity to the environment.

That's why:

When you complain to people they'll get affected by the negativity. But when you complain to Allah, الصمد, He won't be affected. We are humans and can't take negativity.

But what caused the person to complain in the first place? A bad thought.
When you think bad about a situation, you're thinking good about yourself. As if you're the victim and everyone is against you. And that is thinking bad about Allah.

Every sin starts with a bad thought

E.g. The brothers of Yusuf's plot began with an idea.

A Bad Decree
Thinking bad:- Why did this happen to me? He has no right to say this about me? Etc.

If you go through a situation where someone is bad to you and you go and talk it out with someone else, that person tries to console you and says bad about the other person and that you don't deserve it, etc.
It's not a question of who is good and who is bad, it's about if you're thinking good about Allah or not.

The person who thinks good will attribute the evil to himself, and good to Allah. He believes there is good in the decree although he may not see it and then flips the page.

A Good Decree
Thinking bad:- Attributing this good to yourself, your power, your intelligence. "Because I worked hard, because I studied, I'm lucky, etc."
It's as if you're saying it was you who did it and not Allah.

In (16:53):

The Muttaqi thinks a lot before he does anything.

C) Regarding the Recompense
The recompense for deeds are mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah.

E.g. In (14:7):

E.g. In (47:7):

I need to believe in the recompense, even if it is delayed.

When I commit a sin
Thinking bad: Allah will forgive me.
You're giving yourself excuses. You need to repent and take the means of forgiveness, only then will Allah forgive you. This thought will prevent you from repentance.

Thinking good: I blame myself for committing the sin. This confession leads you to repentance. When you regret Allah will make you do توبة because He appreciates your confession.

When I do good deeds
Thinking bad about Allah: Attributing the deed to myself. Or doing a good deed and thinking that Allah won't accept it from me.

Thinking good about Allah: Allah is the One who guided me to do this good deed, it's not because of me. And Allah will reward me for it.

We need to acknowledge our shortcoming and deficiencies but have hope that Allah will reward, forgive, and accept our actions.

A person might say "I love Allah so much, even if Allah punishes me I'm so happy"
This is thinking bad of Allah. You're not doing bad so why would you want this? This is not تقديس الله. How will Allah punish you when you're doing good?

In (4:147):

If I do good deeds -> Allah will reward me
If I do sins -> Allah will punish me
