(2) - اسم الله القدوس 8

Examples of how we can fall into سوء الظن بالله

We think bad about Allah when we think contrary to what Allah and His Messenger ﷺ said about Allah, His decrees, promises, commands, etc.

E.g. A decree occurs and the person denies that this decree was from Allah, and attributes it to the means.

In life we face decrees through people. Someone might have insulted you or offended you. We shouldn't think about that person, but believe that it is a test from Allah.
When you associate the decree with the people in it, it makes you sad, frustrated, and think bad. But when you look at it as the Qadar of Allah, you will think good.

Imagine your life as a video game. Everyone and everything around you are just characters, obstacles, and challenges you need to overcome. You need to reach your goal. Allah is the One creating the decrees to test us. Upgrade your thinking and see Him beyond the people. Believe in the Qadar.

However, we need to do more than just (1) attributing the decree to Allah:

2) I need to believe that there is a perfect wisdom behind it

In (2:216):

This verse teaches you Allah is القدوس. There are so many things we don't like, But it's good for us.  We might hate the situation, but it might be that situation which will take you to Paradise. And maybe the thing you like may be bad for you and will distract you from remembering Allah.

E.g. Sulayman loved horses. In (38:30-33):

We can't kill things because we're not Kings. We need to show forebearance and be patient.

In (4:19):

Anything you hate, and Allah decrees, there is good in it.
We hate so many things in our life, but realize later that there was so much good in what happened and we didn't know. We need to believe.

Ahmed Ibn Hanbal sent a proposal to a woman and she agreed to marry him. She had a sister who had only one eye. Ahmed Ibn Hanbal asked if her sister had been listening when the proposal was delivered. When the reply was in affirmative, he married the sister instead, because in his view the other sister would easily get proposals, but this one wouldn't. Allah put بركة in their marriage and she gave birth to Abdullah Ibn Ahmed, who became a scholar.
It's so common for people to think evil.  Don't go backwards and say "If only I did such and such...."
It happened and there was no way we could have avoided it.

Also, any sickness or calamity that happens in our life is a way of reviving our faith. It cleans and refreshes you.
And the days we are healthy are far more than the days we are sick. Our problems are nothing compared to the days of happiness. It's just a little push to refresh and restart our system.
Like when the children open tabs and tabs and download things and the computer becomes slow. It needs to be rebooted. Our lives are the same.

When bad things happen, we devote ourselves to Allah, we worship him, we are cleansed, and when it's over we become new people.

Adam ate from the tree, and human beings kill each other. But Allah knows from his offspring will be martyrs, righteous, pious people. We need to believe in Allah القدوس.
There is no point in thinking bad about Allah. We are only harming ourselves when we think bad.

3) Praise Allah for these decrees.
Praise Allah, even if you hate it. He deserves to be praised for them. You might hate a thing, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Think good about Allah regarding His decrees.

At a time of goodness you say:
الحمد لله الذي بنعمته تتم الصالحات

At the time of afflictions you say:
 الحمد لله على كل حال

In both good times and bad you say الحمد لله. You praise Him in afflictions, although the decree in and of itself is dispraised. Make a distinction between the decree and the action of Allah.

E.g. The Shaytan is bad. But there's good in the fact that Allah created him. Allah created everything for a purpose. He doesn't do anything in vain.

This leads us to the second example:

E.g. Someone who believes that we are created in life without a purpose. That we are just created to live on earth, then die. That we don't have commands we need to follow nor prohibitions we have to avoid.

In (38:27):

So many Muslims think like this, and Allah says it is the way of thinking of the disbelievers. You negate so many other things with this mentality.
You are denying the messengers, and books. You're saying that Allah neglected us.

E.g. You hate and question the existence of insects. Only when science tells us that these are good for the environment, your house, etc. do we have no problem with them coming in.
Why do we believe in science more then the religion?  Some people don't accept religious commandments unless there's scientific proof. Where is our belief in Allah?

I believe Allah is القدوس. I don't know the wisdom behind the creation of these insects, but there's a wisdom behind it. There's no need to waste your energy and search for wisdoms and benefits. All you have to do is believe.

Scientists say there are 'extra parts of our body' which are just there and have no purpose. But when you believe in Allah القدوس, you know that everything, down to every cell and organ in your body has a complete wisdom and purpose behind it.

It's the Kaafir that thinks that there exist things with no purpose. But everything in this world has a job, a purpose, and so do we. Allah says in (51:56):

In addition to this, men and women have different roles and purposes. A man can't play the role of a woman, nor can a woman play the role of a man.

Thinking men and women aren't treated equally is thinking evil of Allah. When we know القدوس life will be easy. You will accept your place. Because He is القدوس in everything He commands and legislates.
But when I think evil of Allah, Allah will not be affected by it. I will be blameworthy one; I will be the one who gets affected.

Thinking good about Allah makes a person think bad about himself. Instead of accusing or questioning the perfection of Allah or the religion, he accuses himself. That's why the Angels said in (2:32):

E.g. Allah says in (19:58):

If I can't cry when I hear the Qur'an, or the Qur'an has no effect on me, then it's because of my weak faith. There's nothing wrong with the Qur'an.

There are so many small things in life we don't consider. Many times we do things and we think we aren't doing or saying anything bad. These are actual sins.
