Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Is not the world cursed and everything in it? It is so except for the remembrance of Allah and what facilitates it, the scholar and the seeker of knowledge." [At-Tirmidhi 2322]

Allah gave us the Dunya in order to make us come closer to Allah, but the problem is that instead of using it for that purpose, we immerse and busy ourselves with it. We'll leave this world soon, so what benefit will it be for you if you didn't use it to seek the next life?
Everything in this world is cursed except for:

1) ذكر الله و ما والاه

Remembrance of Allah isn't limited to statements of the tongue. Remembrance of Allah can be you abandoning a sin for His sake. It can be you sitting down and just remembering Him with your heart.
In order to be included in this, make everything you do for the sake of Allah.

E.g. You go to work everyday. Do it for the sake of earning money to help your family, so that Allah will be pleased with you.

E.g. You're a doctor, an engineer, etc. Do it with the intention of helping your community, for Allah's sake.

2) عالم أو متعلم

Who is the عالم? The person who has knowledge, implements it, then teaches it to others.

This Hadith emphasizes the virtue of seeking knowledge and teaching it to others. The people who do so have a very high status with Allah.

We have to try our best to act upon what we learn. If you don't act upon your knowledge it won't be considered beneficial knowledge. Don't just learn and fill your notebook with notes. Go home, re-read it, implement it, teach it to others -  one of the best ways of establishing knowledge in your heart.

We are responsible for what we learn. Allah chose us from amongst all the people outside and brought us to listen to this word. It is a great honour that Allah chose us out of everyone in the community to come and learn. He wants something more from us.
