- The merits of going early for the Friday prayer - 

- Offering Voluntary Prayer (Two Rak'ah) or more while waiting for the Friday prayer - 

There is no specified limit to the number of Nawafil one can offer while waiting for the Friday prayer.

- Listening attentively to the Khutbah and keeping silent -  

- The Sunnah for the Khutbah to be short and concise - 

- The Prohibition of الاحتباء during the Khutbah - 

Abdullah Ibn Umar narrated, "Allah's Messenger forbade from الاحتباء on Friday while the Imam gives the Khutbah" [Authenticated by Al-Albani in Saheeh Ibn Majah no. 937]

This is to sit with your knees joined together and pulled towards your chest by means of your hands. It isn't a desirable way to sit because it causes drowsiness.
